Hoover BUCS Youth Cheer

We take pride in teaching young athletes the essential skills to leading a crowd of sports fans. Each cheerleader learns important life skills such as teambuilding and leadership, while learning cheers, proper motions, as well as jumping techniques.

Our program is open to 2026-2027 school year 1st - 6th graders that are zoned for schools that feed into Hoover High School ONLY.

Costs and Expenses

Fall 2026 is ONLY a new uniform year for NEW Cheerleaders!   Returning cheerleaders will use the same one from 2025 unless it does not fit and they need a new uniform.

2026 4-6 Grade NEW Cheerleader - $425

Registration Includes:

2026 Competition Season!

Competition is available for those in grades 4th - 8th interested in expanding their skill sets and technique through a more competitive cheer experience.  These cheerleaders will participate in the Fall season sideline squad but will have additional requirements for later in the season.

 

Requirements for Competition Squads:

  • Must participate in a MANDATORY pre season parent meeting during the week of April 29, 2026.  If a parent does not attend this meeting then the cheerleader will NOT be considered for the competition squads.  This is the meeting where it will be discussed all expectations and details for the 2026 competition season.
  • Each girl must learn the required cheer and dance and sign up for a time slot for observation and scoring.  Dates and times TBD.
  • Approximately $145/girl competition entry cost once competition events are scheduled. Opportunities to sell t-shirts/spirit items, and/or sponsorships will be available. Includes competition midriff, bow, competition fees, & music rights.
  • Mandatory Choreography Day Summer 2026.  Specific Dates and Times TBD.  In the event there are multiple squads we will add additional days as the same choreographer will support all squads.
  • Facility costs for practices and choreography TBD (August - November)
  • Additional mandatory competition practices with be scheduled starting the first week of August. These practices will be scheduled at a minimum of one day a week TBD, and may be called any day of the week and multiple times per week in the October/November timeframe depending on the coach as competitions come closer.
  • 2 - 4 Competitions: November (TBD)

Fall 2026 Season Information:

Camp, Practice, and Game Schedule

  • Camp Dates: 2 days during the week of July 20-25, 2026 (Specific Days/Times TBD)
  • Location: TBD
  • Practice takes place every Sunday.  Starting Date TBD, Location Simmons Middle School.  We are bringing sideline practice back to Hoover.
  • Games start the second -third week of August. Games will be on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday at either 6pm or 7:30pm. They may not be on the same night each week, we DO NOT make the schedule.
  • Schedule will be available 1-2 weeks prior to start of season. The game schedule is determined by the Jefferson/Shelby Youth Football League. Therefore, we do not know the days or times of games until the schedule is released in Early August. We will no longer be cheering at away games unless determined by your coach.

Uniforms

  • Mandatory Uniform Fitting:  All new cheerleaders and returning cheerleaders that need a uniform must attend one of the two days to be fitted for a uniform.
  • Dates and Times:  Saturday, May 2, 2026 (9:00 am - 11:00 am) and Thursday, May 7, 2026 (5:00 pm - 7:00 pm)
  • Location:  Bluff Park Elementary School
